Right now Japan is playing America in the WBC, and about 6 teachers are standing around in the copy room, watching the game on a cellphone.
When asked why they are watching it on a cellphone instead of the TV in the staff room, their answer was: "It's working hours".
...
This school is hilarious.

Today was the last day of the school year, and tonight is the Goodbye Dinner for departing teachers. For the first time I'm not surprised by any of the transfers - the people I suspected would leave are going. I am, however, shocked and thrilled at news of one of the incoming teachers - it's Kawahara-sensei!!! She was a teacher here my first year, and a good friend. In fact, with her added to the staff, that means I finally, FINALLY, have the English Teacher Dream Team I've wanted from Day 1.
I am thrilled beyond all measure. I am, however, conflicted by my disappointment re: Shiro-chu's transfers - I've lost Kudo-sensei to Hiketa :( No idea who will replace her. *sigh*

Last friday and saturday I went to Sanko for the spring English camp. It went well and I had fun The best part was finally gettting to stay at Vessel Ouchi, our local resort. We stayed in these cool log cabins and got to use the (very nice) onsen. And I don't think any of my students were there.

And on sunday I went to my last sumo tournament. I love sumo so much. I'll miss you Kotooshu ;__;
