Yesterday this awesome thing happened. It was so awesome that even though I was there I kind of can't believe it myself. But I swear to you on my batman comics, this is 100% true:
I was in the teacher's room at my elementary school, waiting for the students to come fetch me. I was chatting with some other teachers when the 4th grade students arrived, a boy and a girl. They walked up and faced me at attention. The boy opened his mouth, but before he could utter the customary "おねがいします" the girl opened hers and hollared at me
"I AM A BANANA"
Taken aback is what I was, just stunned into silence. During my pause, a teacher asked her Do you mean "I like bananas"? and she replied No, not really.
By then I recovered enough to get my things together and let them lead me to the classroom. And all I could do was, under my breath, mutter "...awesome..."
