Haggard admits "Sexual Immorality":
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15536263/ Evidently Mr. Haggard, founder of the National Evangelical Association, was caught with his pants down around another gentleman who happened to have his pants down, there might have been drugs etc. involved as well. Scandalous!
A quote from the article: “The fact is I am guilty of sexual immorality. And I take responsibility for the entire problem. I am a deceiver and a liar. There’s a part of my life that is so repulsive and dark that I have been warring against it for all of my adult life."
The deceiving and the lying bit I can understand. Obviously he's been lying to his peers within the movement about his depraved homosexuality, but I'm not quite willing to hold that against him. Being gay isn't something that he would have to lie about and be ashamed of if he ran in more tolerant circles. Part of it's his fault for being a self-loathing homo, but a good deal of it comes from the intolerant culture that he's been helping in no small part to push.
I'd just like to say to you, Mr. Haggard, why worry? I certainly won't hold it against you that you like to suck a little dick in your off time. It's not my cup of tea, but there are people out there in the wide world who are able to say "well I don't really see why you do that, but live and let live if it makes you happy."
In fact, this is a good chance for him to take stock of his situation and try to do something about it. Perhaps the fact that a Godly homosexual has risen to a position of prominence and leadership in the Church could serve as proof that being gay and being a good Christian aren't necessarily mutually exclusive? Of course it seems like he's already wallowing in a cess pool of self-pity and repentance, so this will most likely be chalked up to a horrible sinner who managed to deceive people about the black blood that pumped through his flthy homosexual veins rather than the story of a good Christian who is being unfairly judged because of his sexual orientation.
"Judge not, lest ye be judged." Oh how I wish they would take that to heart.
