Life's moments

I watched this video that was on KarmaTube today.
It was very interesting and thought provoking.

Today I walked around my office handing out homemade treats and wishing people happy Valentines day.  I made those little Hershey kiss treats by setting the candy on little square pretzels, warming them in the oven and then smooshing a red m&m in the center.  Cute and very tasty.  I didn't have enough to just set them in the kitchen, next to the dozens of doughnuts, so I figured a more personal touch would work better.  I enjoyed the contact with the different employees that I don't always see.

During my journey around the office, I found out we are having a wedding today.  A former employee, who I have always liked, is getting married before the judge at 3:00.  The judge's court is up on the 7th floor.   Her friends in the office have made her a wedding cake and bought flowers that they are going to make into bouquets and boutonnieres during their lunch hour.  They even talked the bride into wearing something a bit special for the occasion.  How very sweet.  The instigator is someone that the bride has been very supportive of even after she left for her new job.  The bride's kindness in making weekly phone calls to check on a friend has come back to her multiplied many times.  Just listening to the excitement and warm feelings brought tears to my eyes.

It made the impact of the video more real for me because of these moments.  It is often the small gestures that make the lasting impressions on life.  Our moments.  Those little videos we carry around in our heads and replay from time to time.

When we are living through a loss, we can experience many warm, meaningful moments as friends reach out to touch us and let us know they give their love and care.  Those and many other moments stand out in life.  Time to make moments and bring good feelings to others.
