Veterans Day, the Monday Holiday

Nov 14, 2007 09:15

It was just about perfect.  Rain and warm temperatures.  Thunder in the distance.  Fabulous Color. Reds, yellows, golds & greens in all directions. And I could enjoy it all from the comfort of home.

Dunky was out of town for a few days.  Peacefulness.  Quiet.

Time to journal, write letters, read & sew.  I finished my book and turned K’s sweatshirt that didn’t fit & had a broken zipper, into a cute Supergirl pillow.

All in all, the perfect holiday from work.

Even yesterday had a different beginning since Dunk wasn’t home yet.  About 8:15 last night he arrived home, a good 12 hours early.

I don’t enjoy much alone time, so I didn’t appreciate the loss of those hours.  He is a very extroverted type and doesn’t really do quiet.

I am not looking to be alone all the time, but just to be able to enjoy my small windows of peacefulness.

So I am taking a moment to remember Monday and what a special day it was.
