Lost Paper Trail

My bank, cell provider and a retail store were kind enough to inform me of a security breach into their systems where someone scooped millions of emails, mine included. I got that same message. I'm no longer a customer at the bank, but I guess they still had my e-mail address on file. So far, no new junk (maybe they weren't interested in dead accounts).
I refuse to give up my Hotmail. I'm used to it. I have a gmail (actually, I have two), but I'm staying with Hotmail. Too much trouble to inform everyone not to write there any more.

Changing emails is a pain in the ass, that's why I've yet to act. I do like hotmail. I'm just sick of the junk.

I rarely check my spam inbox, I think yahoo does a pretty good job. I have a google and hot mail account, but I don't want to change from yahoo at this time. It's fine for me.

I do think spam is just part of life now. Annoying but not too noticeable. If I got a letter like that though, I would change my banking password, reset all the securities, etc. Good luck, I hope nothing more comes of it.

I just read the story in time about LJ and the Russian spammers. Impressive! I wish I could read Russian, I would love to read about their free speech revolution on LJ. I'm not so mad at LJ anymore either, it sounds like a real war.

Gmail is great, I have been using it since it started, and have never had a problem. Not much spam either.

I've gotten the same message from my gas card companies.

Everyone must be using the same processing company.

Hadn't noticed an increase in email spam - yet.
