I've started another novel-length H/D, but this time I'm going to try to be like the
beren_writes and the
thwax! *loves them* To clarify, I want to write the whole fic, and then post in parts once it's completed.
I think it also may kill me.
When I wrote
Amalgam, I had a rough idea of where I wanted to end up - and that changed by the third chapter. heh. It was my first WIP, and I blindly let the muses lead.
With
Some by Virtue Fall, I had a killer bunny to go on, and a solid ending planned. I wrote it over 4 months, finished it, and then posted a chapter a day. It was only 5 chapters, though.
Problem with this new project, is that I'm writing AU, creating a host of OCs (12 so far), and have a feeling that it's going to be very long because I really want to try my hand at slow-burn with a few different pairings.
If 5 chapters of Snarry took me 4 months, and Amalgam nearly 3 years, how long is this new monster going to take me before it's ready to be posted?
*frets*
I'm not the fastest writer, and I usually labour over every word and detail - oh yeah, and I don't know how I want this one to end either - yet. GAH! what I do have is a pile of cool characters, and an awesome setting that will be quite a stretch for me to pull off.
I'm excited and terrified.
Advice?
