Children's and Young Adult's Literature

So I'm thinking about doing my Writer's Craft Independent Study Unit on 'dealing with social situations' as seen in literature for ages 9-15 (approximately). It's a good excuse to a) read some of the most frequently challenged books, and b) re-read old favourites and some new ones. Essentially, I'm looking for good books about growing up or dealing with particular situations.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
