So my dad placed this ad in the paper to have our old pop-up camper taken off our hands. The camper is free. FREE. It is so horrible that we don't even want to try to sell it. We are willing to give it away for free. So starting at 6:30 this morning, when my parents were out picking berries, the phone calls began. I ignored it at first, didn't pick up my phone, and tried to keep sleeping. But the calls kept coming, so I thought maybe it was something important and it was the same person calling over and over again because it was urgent that they get ahold of my family. Oh no, I could not have been more wrong.

I picked up the phone, and I could hear the inbreeding in the man's voice. I had to give him directions to our house and then he asked if he could come over right then and get it. I told him my parents would be home later and I would let them know he called. I left the note for them in the kitchen and assumed that would be the end of it. I mean, how many people get up at 6:30 to leaf through the advertisements in the saturday paper to find "deals" like our camper? Apparently far, far too many. For the next 4 hours, which includes about two seconds ago because we just got another call, the rednecks called in. Our "tray-la fa free" was just a far too exciting deal for the white trash of Strafford County to resist. I began ignoring the calls again and when my parents got home they took over, thankfully. We have had several of these Larry the Cable Guy fans come to our house over the past 3 hours and putter around our camper. The lucky "buyer" just left with it. But the phone calls. Keep. On. Coming. And apparently the ad is going to be in tomorrow's paper, too, because it is too late to withdraw the ad for tomorrow. So I look forward to another day of dealing with people whose favorite tagline is "The South Will Rise Again" and have enough teeth amongst the collective bunch to make a set.

EDIT (10:45 am): The last guy who just showed up was a hottie. Had all his teeth. Only good thing to come of this.
