Through a thorough investigation into the possible meaning of this dream using the Dreams for Dummies guide as well as the counsel of highly-praised psychologist Dr. T. W. Isted I have come to several conclusions.

1. Biology is a symbol of life. The fact that you were attending Biology class on your first day of college symbolizes the fact that you still have many questions about life, and experiences in college will grant you answers to many of these questions.

2. Flies represent sin. The fast reproduction of the flies means that deep-down you feel that you are falling into a state of sin, whether in relation to your own beliefs, or those of people you care deeply about. The gray jelly represents the hazy boundary(the gray area) between living in this state of sin, and living as you believe you should. The sink that is too small for your hands represents the tight corner you feel yourself being backed into as a result of the clash between these two ideals. You are unable to completely wash the sin off of your hands, and obtain a guilt-free conscience.

3. The device that shows you the meaning of a book by epiphany represents your wish to understand things in your life more easily. There are many issues which you have not fully resolved and you wish there was some way for you to clearly see the solution to these problems. This goes back to your desire for answers for your questions, and represents the intense need to have these questions answered.

4. Aliens obviously represent your feelings about people who are too close-minded. You feel that these people will judge you based on their own standards, because you appear alien to them, rather than looking deeper into who you really are. The alien on the cover of the book appearing different than the way you expected him to represents the fact that you sometimes judge people as well, and through acknowledging this fact wish to remove your own biases. The alien’s divergence from the stereotypical has double-meaning as it also represents your wish to not fall into the trap of stereotypes.

5. Michael Moore is a complex symbol, and he ties into all of the previous symbols in your dream, which is why I left him for last. In a way he represents truth. In his recent movie Fahrenheit 9/11 he attempts to expose the lies of the Bush administration for what they truly are(he shines light on them, as he does at the blackboard). He also represents the dangers of being close-minded. His fixation on every bad thing Bush has ever done overshadows any possible good thing, and this bias gives you misgivings about completely trusting the man. Michael Moore supports your own dislike of Bush, but his close-mindedness turns you off. You feel a similar ambivalence in your own life. Some things in your life are not entirely good and you have a hard time deciding if the good outweighs the bad. Overall this represents a struggle to decide what you should do with your life, and the difficulties you have in making decisions. You are afraid of judging too quickly, but you also fear that by not acting some things may get out of control.
Michael Moore as a Biology teacher represents the fact that you are willing to learn about life from all kinds of people. You recognize the fact that life’s lessons are everywhere and not just parent’s can teach you about life(English teachers can teach you Biology).
