Create a scare to make money
The Seattle Times cover story screams that the swine flu will infect 50% of us... and even worse, the "life saving" vaccine is in short supply. The PI next to it touts a similar swine flu end of days.
It is really quite brilliant actually... for a product most will not need, to combat an ailment that is basically the most recent mutation of the normal flu virus, you use enough scary buzz words, like "pandemic!!!", and make your vaccine, the only hope of survival, in short supply... yup, makes me want to shiv my neighbor to be sure I get one.
