Orlando Vacations and the Passing of Time

Jan 01, 2010 01:34

Here I am in Orlando, fresh into a new year. Fresh into a new decade. 2 0 1 0 . . . I'm listening to John Mayer's Battle Studies for the first time. Good thus far. Super chill day in the 9th floor Presidential Suite at the Wyndham resort in Orlando. Sean came over and we chilled in the pool and hot tub and then we went to Ponderosa for some T-Bone steak and buffet eating. Good stuff for sure. Totally filling. More chilling and Sean came over again and we grabbed a beer at the bar down by the pool at our hotel. Longboard Lager, Florida vacation appropriate and pretty good. More spa hot tub chilling and socializing, and then, after searching for Sean's lost ID we literally ran over to the party on the other side of the resort for the new years count down. New year rang in and everyone went nuts popping baloons, drinking champagne, kissing, and generally making a lot of noise and watching the absolutely EPIC fireworks over Disney. Jay, Sean, and I came back and smoked some absolutely deliciously strong cigars on our presidential suite porch. I've been here for 2 days and have yet to go to a park. I tried to help keep Katelyn's spirits up with some texts as she struggled through the insane EPCOT crowds with her family. EPCOT stands for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. Back in May '07 when we were here with WA some old guy came up to me and Jay and was like, "You guys know what EPCOT stands for? Every Person Comes Out Tired!" We laughed and agreed with him, but it's definitely true, and I vow to be that same man and tell that same joke to some young kids when I'm old.
So tomorrow we're hitting MGM, or Hollywood Studios as it's now called because Metro Goldwyn Mayer went under. We still call it MGM though.

Happy New Year everyone... Happy New decade.

Maybe I'll do a decade reflection blog haha.
