11 hours on a train
43 hours in windsor
11 hours on a train

Options of going home from Ottawa aren't the greatest.  Driving can get boring, and requires a lot of concentration.  Train is most comfortable, and well priced.  Bus is scary and not comfortable, but cheapest.  Flights are fastest and ridiculously priced.  Maybe i'll fly to TO then have the fam pick me up next time.  Or carpool w/ other windsorites in/along the way.

I wish Canada had better public transportation systems.  Like highspeed rail, or more comfortable buses, like in Korea.  In an age of more environmental/global awareness/need for better public transportation.. you think we would have such things.

Weekend turned out great, minus lack of summer weather, i thought it was just Ottawa that didn't have summer this year.

Friday evening bbq/pool party turned into sitting inside eating too much food, but great time none-the-less.

Saturday morning I spent at the salon getting my hair did.  It felt like i never left, but also like i had been away for sooo long.  I miss those girls sooo much.

Saturday afternoon I attended Nicole and Mike's wedding ceremony.  It was beautiful!  Congrats!  Saturday evening I attended their reception with my sister at Ciociaro and ate wayy too much delicious food.  It was to catch up with everyone, and really hard to say goodbye.

Around 11ish I went downtown to meet up with Ash and Fran, fyi Jake's Joint 3$ everything on Saturday nights.  They ate street meat, and some guy gave us cards for free cover at Dean's.  After a Dr.Pepper shot and some dancing i met up with the guys to round off a great night.

Sunday morning was crepe breakfast avec ma famille and grandma then lounging around avec Lisa.  I packed up my stuff then we stopped to say hi to grandpa and he accompanied us to the train station where i randomly ran into Owen.  We figured out that we hadn't seen each other since highschool.. aka 8 years ago, but we've managed to keep in contact through the magic of the internet.

It was strange going home and seeing my room again.  It's empty essentially, things are moved around, it's not where i live anymore.  My bed didn't feel the same, it's not "my" room.  My parents even got caller ID, which we never-ever had, weird.  It was also really hard leaving home, saying goodbye to everyone, not knowing when i'll see them next.  It's not like i'm living really far away, i guess it's just knowing that i probably won't be living in Windsor again (or in the foreseeable future), and life has changed, and is always changing.  I guess it's just a matter of getting used to it.
