Ybbs and BBS Postings!
For many years I have had a Ybbs set-up on the site for myself and my friends. Unfortunately, there are others out there who have used this site to push everything from Viagra, casino gambling and on-line porn. That was not the intention of this service and as much as I have tried to ban this stuff and the users that post it, they have worked much faster and with more savvy than I have the time or the energy to control it.
The last straw this week was a court order demanding me to delete certain users or shut-down the offending boards on my site. This problem has not only had problems on the ybbs software that I had installed, but also some of the BBS software that my host provider has installed that they insist is supposed to curb BBS hijacking - it doesn’t work .
I have no choice but to shut down the boards. I hate to do this but it’s in the best common interest.
I'm very sorry for the inconvenience of this will bring! If you got to blame anyone, blame the Bad people - they know who they are!
Once I can get something that I can have full control over, I'll bring the boards back up and give the board admen’s their new accounts.
