I did a quick solar/stovetop dyepot today with the shrimp plant (thanks for the identification, Huette!). I pulled a bunch of the leaf/flower combinations, and put them in the pot on the stove with water. When it was almost boiling, I put it out on the back porch in full sun, and added some silk that had been mordanted. I can't remember if that silk had been soaked in anything else - it didn't look colored, at any rate.

I have some wool soaking in it as well, but it's not nearly as good a color yet.
