Red has a job!
He went and interviewed at the car dealership today - and was offered a job.
It'll have 2 weeks of paid training (paying more than the unemployment), and then it's a commission deal. If he does well, it should pay as well or better than TLF. And there's a prospect of quarterly bonuses, based on how many cars he sells, etc.
Luckily - it's a Ford dealership, which is the only one NOT closing locations right now. It's not too far from work, and it sells both new and used cars.
Funny aside: he had to go in and do a pre-job drug test - and they needed a hair sample! (those who have seen Red know why this is funny). He ended up using one from his armpit, I guess - longer than the goatee hairs, anyway.
So he'll need to sell 10 cars a month, but the owner/manager liked Red's answers and views on salesmanship, so we hope that means he'll do okay with the job.
And he still has applications in at other places, so he's not wed to this, obviously.
But - hopefully things will look a little better. Without him working 60 hours a week.
