oooh bubble wrap! shiny!
Things somewhat related to the holiday season:
Yuletide fic exchange over at Archive of Our Own! I'm not participating, but it doesn't stop me from looking at the collection with glee. The archive was a bit slow and I felt bad refreshing the pages a million times, so I haven't really explored, but it seems to be faster now. Some of my tiny tiny fandoms are being represented! Also, unexpectedly (at least to me), there's one fic posted under "Malay Literature", which I think is pretty awesome. Though I do wish that the author had been more specific as to which bit of literature it's being written for; it seems terribly unfair that a whole range of stuff gets lumped under one fandom. (The archive can handle it being separated into distinct literary works instead being under that one heading. The thing is, will there be more fic? >.> As much glee as I have at seeing Malay lit being represented, I doubt I'd be writing any fic for it myself.)
It would be awesome if we had separate entries for Sejarah Melayu or Hikayat Hang Tuah. Or those things some of us (not me, I'm not young enough) had to read in class, like, um. I can't think of a single title. What did they make kid reads in school for the Malay lit component? I can't quite remember the title of the story my siblings kept complaining about. Or those fantasy novels by Ahmad Patria. Or, or, I don't know, one of those awful romance novels with ridiculous titles like Cinta Marisa that I'll never read, but I'll still be happy to see fic for it in the archive.
Or fic in Malay, even. Surely someone has given it a go?

Spent a few nights frantically trying to finish some sewing projects, all of them gifts for friends and colleagues at the other office. We're sending them a gift box. They'll only arrive after Christmas, but that's ok. I managed to finish sewing these on Wednesday night, just in time, though I was knotting threads and trimming them during lunch at the office. XD
So. Boxy pencil case/pouch things are go (pictures are rather blurry; I was quite possibly rather sleep-deprived at that point):
The blue one looks odd, though a couple of people told me it was cute. I like the brown one best, some of my favourite fabrics are in that patchwork strip. The pink and white one is really sweet and I think it suits the person who'll get it but, well, it's white and pink. It'll get dirty in no time. XD
The amount of fail that came from trying to wrap these: massive, omg. I should've stuffed them in a box first.
