Hello, friend! I'm cyren2132 on AO3, and this is my first year doing the Trick or Treat fic exchange, so I hope this letter is everything you need it to be.
DO NOT WANTS
- A/B/O, soul-bonding, etc.: I like my relationships to exist within the confines of reality.
- Noncon, sexual violence, humiliation
- 2nd Person POV/Reader fic: I'm also not super fond of wholly first-person POV, but a little in thoughts or journal situations is fine.
- Established non-canon relationships: Non-canon relationships are fine, but I need some degree of how they came to be.
- Alternate setting AUs
- Age-gap romance: Especially between characters that have a parent/child or mentor/protege relationship.
- PWP
FANDOMS AND PROMPTSI pretty much went straight down the tagset to make this list, so there's nothing special about the way it's ordered. For some of these, I have more than one prompt. They're all optional, of course, but they might give you a better idea of the sort of stuff I'd like than a list of tropes would.
JUMANJI
Character: Alan Parrish
Type: Trick
Prompt 1: I'd love to see more about Alan's youth in the game. How did he survive? Help bridge the gap between the downtrodden kid and wild man with daddy issues.
Prompt 2: Alan gets a second childhood after the game, but Jumanji continues to haunt him in his dreams. I'd like to see either Sarah or his parents (or both) trying to help him with his nightmares. Whether they're successful is up to you.
JURASSIC PARK MOVIES
Characters: Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler
Type: Either
Prompt: I'd prefer post-Jurassic Park 3, with Alan staying with Ellie and her family for a while, trying to calm his nerves after Isla Sorna
SCREAM (MOVIES)
Character: Dewey Riley
Type: Either
Prompt: Let's face it: For the most part, Dewey always looked like kind of a doof. But what if he were actually really good at his job, and nobody really noticed because of his doofy exterior? Show me Dewey figuring things out or otherwise being a good deputy (or generally being competent in his other roles, if set during or after a sequel). He doesn't have to be THE HERO or come through it unscathed if you go the trick route. He may even be too late to be any help, but just give me some acknowledgment that he's a trained professional in law enforcement.
TERMINATOR GENISYS
Character: Pops
Type: Either
Prompt: Pops has a long wait for Sarah and Kyle. How does he fill his spare time? Does he work on his people skills by experimenting with friendships or, dare I say, romance? Does he discover and then single-handedly rid the world of supernatural monsters (because Sarah will have enough to deal with from Skynet, she doesn't need a vampire/werewolf/zombie uprising on top of that...)? Does he foster kittens and puppies or maybe a big old tomcat that no one else wanted? You tell me.
THE PRETENDER
Character: Jarod
Type: Either
Prompt 1 (Treat): Jarod finds himself in a puppy pile/cuddling group and ends up getting all the affection he missed out on at The Centre. I'd prefer it stay fluffy and nonsexual.
Prompt 2 (Trick): Jarod is taking a break from cases while pretending to be a teacher at a boarding school when a death starts to look like more than an accident.
CRACK PROMPT CROSSOVER ALERT: Jarod has another younger brother -- immediately put up for adoption to keep him safe from The Centre. His name: Phil Dunphy, and when Jarod finds him, he gains the biggest modern family he's ever known. I'd be happy with this set any time from modern day to pre-series for Modern Family and as fluff or a little scarier with Miss Parker, Sidney and Broots catching up to them and discovering Phil (and Haley, Alex or Luke if it's set late enough). Basically, I just really want Phil to be a long lost Jarod brother, and would be happy with pretty much any circumstance.
TEEN WOLF
Characters: Chris Argent, Peter Hale, Sheriff Stilinski
Type: Either
Prompt 1 (Treat): Stilinski and Melissa finally get together. Fluff, smut, I don't care. I just want to see that moment where they (or just he) realize(s) they're heading for more than friends. I'm fine with the fanon first name John for the sheriff, but whatever you use, pop it in the notes, please. Or if you want to work around it and just go with "the sheriff" and "Stilinski" that's fine, too.
Prompt 2A (Trickish treat? Treat-like trick?): Pre-series. Before the Argents and Hales knew what the other family was, Peter and Chris briefly attended Beacon Hills High School together. Forced to work together on a class project, these two opposites become something almost like friends (or almost a little more, if that's your jam). Chis starts to suspect what Peter is and has mixed feelings but keeps his mouth shut until Gerard moves them all out of Beacon Hills to clean up a different town. (Where, along the way, Chris finishes his training, learns to hate werewolves - while still carrying a tiny seed of doubt on that assessment - and doesn't return to Beacon Hills until the Hale fire, though I don't necessarily need all of that in the story.)
Prompt 2B (Trick): If you like the idea of 2A, but don't want to write it as it happened, use it as reference and skip straight to shortly after the Hale fire. Conflicted, Chris visits the burned, comatose Peter and airs his feelings - from sorrow that Peter was hurt so badly to anger at what Peter is.
Thank you, writer! I love all these fandoms and look forward to reading your story, whether it follows any of these prompts or not.
