I've been stuck at 18,789 words for the past 9 days.
There's a part of me that just wants to call it quits. I've got first drafts of a Yuletide gift fic and three treats, and I've written almost all of the last half of a Lyle-centric Heroes fic, and I just don't have any more enthusiasm. I suppose I *could* be working on some other WIPs but I just don't know that I want to be.
HOWEVER, I did come up with an experiment that I'm going to try next year, if I remember. I'm going to Sims-ify my NaNovel. Basically, sometime next October I'm either going to make a Sims 2 family, or just a single character and in November, = write what I play until eventually I find a story in there (idea being that maybe at some point the writing can overtake the playing.)
I feel like there's potential to find a story faster if I start with a family, but potential for more words if I start a Legacy challenge and
Sweet Valley Saga it up while following the generations. I actually like this idea so much that while I was thinking about it, I almost decided to pitch everything I had and start from scratch this year, but then I realized that would give me a whopping five days -- the next three of which I'll be away from home for (and Sim-ing isn't nearly as easy on my laptop, which I also worry about overheating).
