You know, guys, I encourage you to comment on all my puzzles, and not just the Tuesday Teasers. I'm even fine with you posting solutions, as long as no one can accidentally see them. (So ROT13 or coloring text white are good ideas.)
I came up with this week's puzzle while thinking about Ripple Effect, and specifically whether non-orthogonal distances could make for an interesting interplay. Well, yes, but it was difficult to set up the board, so this may not be as interesting a puzzle as usual.
Rules: Fill each white square with one chess piece. Each pentomino should contain one king, one queen, one bishop, one knight, and one rook, and no piece should be able to move to another square containing the same piece (if all other white squares were empty). Black squares block movement through them by queens, rooks, and bishops (so they may as well contain pawns).
... Look, the next TT will be better, I promise.
