OK, these reactions are slow in coming. And since this last episode didn't resolve my questions, I might as well jot them in here.

So why is the puppeteer alive? I thought Sylar took his ability at Primatech, just before it burned to the ground. This confusion could be intentional, though, since it was claimed that Sylar had also died there; the viewers have mostly given him a free pass on the dental records because he's freaking Sylar.

But on an unrelated note, Sylar's story has a big hole in it. Let's see, Gabriel's adoptive father, the watchmaker (or did he just fix them?), said he got him directly from his real father, the taxidermist. (That makes them both uncles, but that's not the confusion.) But all the episodes after that show that little Gabriel was sold to a couple... of women? At a roadside diner, somewhere between New England and Minnesota?

I think the writers had trouble figuring out how to fold Sylar's adoption into his character backstory. I mean, I want to give them credit-- maybe I only thought they were both women because I only saw one clearly, and the other was the watchmaker, and they used to live in MN but moved to NY later-- but I still know the show has... let's say, massaged archive footage. We all know. But hey, it's not a comic book without some continuity issues that later writers can desperately try to iron out later, right?

Tim Kring, please wrap this up. End the series next year as has (occasionally) been planned. (And while I'm unrealistically asking things of you directly, I want season finales, when they wrap things up, not to do so quickly at the same breakneck pace the show usually has, but rather to include a denouement. Five segments of action, maybe 5.5, and then decompress for several good minutes.)
