Where I rewatch Yugioh GX, Episode 78

Sep 28, 2010 20:14

Once again, no subs for this episode. Once again, I will not subject myself to the 4Kids Dub. And once more, we are reminded of how the last episode ended, including the last minute invitation Mizuchi extended to Edo Phoenix. It still feels randomly thrown in at the last second, despite the fact that I know that the writers had to have been planning for this from the very beginning of this entire insipid field trip. This does not give me confidence in this episode. Oh, and for some reason Fubuki just stands there like he's trying to catch flies. Nice. Also, Manjoume and Asuka are still drones. Woo.

TITLE SCREEN! THE STRONGEST TAG! JUDAI & EDO! (PART 1) already this is bullshit, everyone knows that the strongest tag is yuugi and jounouchi.

Running, running, Misawa is made to carry Sugoroku, running, running, Judai and Edo interacting is still boring as all fuck, running, running, pause for Sugoroku to provide some exposition, yet more running, and now we're finally there. The door opens for them (of course), blah blah blah, and of course neither Misawa nor Sugoroku actually get to come in, because otherwise there would have been some sort of point to them coming along in the first place! Walking, lights turn on, bright flash, and now Judai and Edo now appear to be in cyberspace, or something, I don't even know anymore. Oh, that's precious, Kenzan looks like a dinosaur, and Shou looks like a car...

...

...

Wait...

...

...

Hold on...

...

...

Oh. Dear. Sweet. God. In. Hell.

These fucking writers. These...FUCKING WRITERS! THIS IS WHAT THEY'VE BEEN PLAYING AT, THIS IS WHAT THEY'VE BEEN PLAYING AT THIS WHOLE ENTIRE MOTHERFUCKING TIME, THESE INSIPID INBRED TWITS!

Oh, right, I actually need to express my horrific revelation. Well, it's very simple. Shou is a car, cars use fossil fuels, fossil fuels come from dinosaurs. And this...this...this is why Shou and Kenzan would not stop bickering, fighting, and arguing over the most inane, stupid, idiotic shit in the entire world. This is the kind of mentality that the writers are working off of. This is the kind of stymied, stunted, developmentally challenged imagination that the writers are drawing on.

No wonder this show is so fucking terrible. And we're not even five minutes into the epiosode, counting the recap and opening. Lovely.

Oh, and apparently the elemental idiots are also there, but who gives a fuck about those one-dimensional hacks? Nobody, that's who! And now Mizuchi shows up, blah blah blah, I'm guessing Edo's asking Mizuchi 'what the fuck', and if I'm reading this flashback properly, Takuma asked his sister to do this for him. According to the summary, its something about her finding out whether Judai or Edo will be the one to move his wheel of destiny to save him. Am I the only one who's reminded of that episode of The Twilight Zone, where the guy can't move on until the little fortune telling device at the parlor says he can move on? Probably.

Now Edo starts yelling about something to do with destiny, big shock, blah blah blah, and all this destiny blather shall be the excuse for Judai and Edo to be in a tag duel against Mizuchi. But wait, who will be her partner? Gasp, maybe the characters will behave intelligently for a change, and we'll get a super-special awesome brother-sister villain team-up against the heroes right here and now...or Mizuchi will just do the Kage Bunshin no Jutsu and create a copy of herself. Weak. And so the duel begins, each side with 8000 life points.

Mizuchi One draws a spell card, and then summons Ukyo, sets a card, and then she goes ahead and plays the spell card in question, Full Moon Mirror. Which results in some sort of many eyed idol appearing, as well as the full moon. Blah blah blah, Mizuchi One reminds everyone that no one can attack on the first turn of a tag duel, and ends her turn. Judai's next, he summons Featherman in defense, sets a card, and ends his turn. Mizuchi Two takes her turn, she summons Sakyo, and then she sets a card to end her turn. Finally, Edo's turn, he summons Die-Hard Guy, and then sets a card of his own to end his turn.

Riveting, isn't it?

Mizuchi One's turn, she plays the spell card Mirror Route, which lets a monster with 1000 attack or less...which is the exact same thing as Secret Pass to the Treasures, but since that doesn't involve the word mirror, the writers obviously had to make up this card. MAKES SENSE TO ME! Anyway, Ukyo has 800 attack points, so he attacks directly, dealing 800 damage to Judai and Edo. Mizuchi One ends her turn, so we're back to Judai, and its time to take a drink, 'cause he's going to play Fusion. And what does he bring out? Flame Wingman, of course. He attacks, but Mizuchi One activates her trap card, Mirror Bind; when she controls both Sakyo and Ukyo, she can destroy the attacking monster, and all other monsters with lower attack power. So as both Judai and Edo have their monsters go boom, two of the eye-things on the idol open up, and the moon begins to grow dark. But hey, it's time for Judai to unveil his latest trap card, Elemental Mirage, allowing him to special summon an Elemental Hero that's just been destroyed by a card effect. And of course, Edo has a Destiny Hero counterpart, so they both get their monsters back. Woo. And I imagine that Mizuchi's inner monologue is about how Judai and Edo are equal, or some horseshit like that.

Blah blah blah, Edo yells at Judai getting his Destiny Hero destroyed through his idiocy, Judai attacks again, and so Mizuchi Two activates her trap, Mirror Trap; this basically lets her use a trap that was sent to her grave this turn, so she of course picks Mirror Bind, once more blowing up Judai and Edo's monsters, and causing two more eyes to open on the idol. More Edo yelling at Judai, and for once Judai is properly contrite. It won't last, trust me.

EYECATCH!

Mizuchi Two attacks with Sakyo for 600 damage, and then she plays the spell card Mirror Call, and since she has Sakyo and Ukyo on the field, she gets to add a trap card from her grave to her hand, so guess who's back on the field...Mirror Bind! Also, another card gets set, and Mizuchi Two ends her turn. Now it's up to Edo to recover from Judai's idiocy, can he do it? Well, he notices that all of Mizuchi's spells and traps are dependent on them having Sakyo and Ukyo on the field, so if they can get rid of one of them, they're in the clear. Edo's turn, he draws some spell card we've never seen before, and summons Devil Guy; he tries to remove one of the mirror monsters from play, but no dice, Mizuchi Two activates her other trap card Silver God's Redirection, which negates Devil Guy's effect and removes it from play. Judai is shocked! My god, a human reaction from our autistic dueling savant. But Edo is not to be deterred, and plays his new spell card, D-Spirits, allowing him to special summon a D-Hero from his hand to the field. So out comes Doom Guy, and then Edo discards Dagger Guy to increase its attack power to 1800. Of course, since Mizuchi Two still has Mirror Bind, she can still blow up his monster and negate his attack...

The fuck...

WHY THE FUCK DIDN'T MIZUCHI TWO ACTIVATE MIRROR BIND? WHY? WHAT THE FLAMING FUCK WAS THAT? WHAT WAS THE POINT OF HER BRINGING BACK MIRROR BIND IF SHE WASN'T EVEN GOING TO ACTIVATE IT? OH, AND THEN JUDAI'S ALL 'WOW! EDO, YOU IS SUCH A GOOD DUELIST :D'. NO HE FUCKING ISN'T, THE WRITERS ARE JUST SUCH VAPID, EMPTY HEADED TWITS THAT THEY COULDN'T EVEN BE ARSED TO COME UP WITH A GOOD REASON FOR HOW THE FUCK EDO WAS GOING TO BE ABLE TO PULL THAT OFF, SO THEY JUST ARIBITRARILY DECIDED THAT HE WOULD. SERIOUSLY, WHY DOES NO ONE EVEN COMMENT ON THIS? SHOULDN'T EDO AND JUDAI BE SUSPICIOUS AS ALL FUCK THAT MIZUCHI TWO DIDN'T ACTIVATE HER TRAP CARD?

FUCK, FUCK, FUCK, FUCK, FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!

So anyway, Edo also set a card to end his turn. Mizuchi One's turn, she sacrifices her monster to summon Nayuta, with 2600 attack points. And since Judai's field is empty, she goes for the direct attack on his ass, and what the fuck is with Kenzan's eyes? Seriously, whether big or small, this episode is full of things guaranteed to irritate the fuck right out of me. Judai's turn, he plays Pot of Greed, and so he plays a second Fusion, so that makes two drinks right there, and he fuses Wildman and Necro-Darkman into Necroid Shamen. Then he uses its effect, sacrificing Nayuta to bring back Ukyo onto Mizuchi's field, but this activates Ukyo's effect, allowing Mizuchi to special summon Sakyo back from the grave. Thus, Edo's bullshit plan to break the Mirror Bind combo has been foiled, thanks to Judai. Seriously, Judai, knock it the fuck off; this duel is supposedly important to you, so don't act like your continual screw-ups aren't a big deal. BECAUSE THEY ARE, YOU FUCKWIT!

But hey, now that Necrodarkman's in the grave, Judai can summon Edgeman without sacrifice, whoop-di-freaking-do, and now Judai's trying to think. Wait, I thought that thinking was badwrong and antifun and not appropriate for Judai? In any event, he figures out that he can use De-Fusion to separate Necroid Shaman back into Wildman and Necro Darkman, and when Wildman attacks, the opponent can't activate traps. And now we're left with the horrifying spectacle of everyone acting like Judai's all brilliant and shit. Take another drink. Judai attacks with his monsters, destroying Mizuchi's and bringing her down to 3200 life points and 7 eyes open on the idol thing. Oh great, more 'Judai is so big and strong and powerful', more drinking, Mizuchi Two sets two cards and ends her turn. Edo's turn, he plays Pot of Greed, and sacrifices Doom Guy for Double Guy. He attacks, but Mizuchi activates her trap card, The Mirror of Spirit Calling; by sending a card from her side of the field to the grave (Mirror Binding), she special summons a monster from her grave. That monster she brings back Sakyo, whose effect also brings back Ukyo. Edo wonders why she sent Mirror Bind to the grave to bring them back, especially since she had a whole 'nother card she could have used for that purpose.

But he will not be deterred, and activates his trap card, D-Chain, increasing Double Guy's attack power by 500, and when he destroys a monster by battle, he deals 500 points of damage. Since Double Guy gets to attack twice, both of Mizuchi's monsters get destroyed, and another 1000 damage gets applied. Blah blah blah, Judai's all impressed, and Mizuchi's still unsure of who the super special chosen one is. (Hint, it's the idiot. It's always the idiot.). But Mizuchi Two activates her trap card, The Talisman of Buried Soul; when two monsters have been destroyed and sent to the grave, she gets to destroy the monster that attacked and special summon a level 5 or higher monster from her hand. So boom goes Double Guy, the moon is fully dark, and she brings out Asogi in defense position, which lets her bring back Nayuta in a attack position. Edo notices the New Moon, sets a card, and ends his turn.

Blah blah blah, Judai's an idiot, Blah blah blah, once the Full Moon Mirror card has 10 counters on it, they get to...we're going to have to wait for the next episode to find out!

NEXT TIME! Mizuchi summons a whole bunch of ugly monsters that I can't see very clearly for reasons that will become apparent in the next episode, there's a schedule change, and I don't give a fuck. Card of the week is Nayuta, which was never released.

Wow. The stupid was strong with this one. D:
