Behold, a follow-up to Revolutionary Girl Utena fanfic!

Miki Kaoru wondered why he’d never gone on a dinner date with Juri Arisugawa before; both the food and the company were very, very pleasant, and together they were definitely more than the sum of their parts. And afterwards, he even offered to play the piano for her, which confused him a little, actually; he’d heard him play the piano many times, she’d listened to him on more than one occasion, and yet this time it felt…different. He could vaguely recall feeling this way before, but when he tried to think of who he’d played the piano for back then…her face was foggy, and while part of him wanted to say it was Anthy, the chairman’s sister, he knew how absurd that was.

In truth, there were many details about his recent past that Miki wasn’t sure about, but when he looked up from the piano to see Juri’s amused expression as she cradled her face in her hand, he felt that his time with her would always be clear. And the thought of that brought a smile to his face unlike any he’d ever felt before, and The Sunlit Garden acquired entirely new meaning to him.
