Sadness Baths and Geopolitical Problem Solving: Aka Cy has thoughts

Normally I would just post this over on tumblr but it's long and tumblr hates me right now.  So the point is I have now seen 'The Treaty' twice and have watched the preview clip for 'Smallest Park'.  And given this and what I've read of the spoilers for the next two episodes, I have some thoughts that I'm working through regarding this arc.

THANK YOU FOR THIS POST! Since the clip came out, I've seen a lot of crazy reactions to it, with people taking this new information and getting angry at the Parks writers for it, so I love that you made an articulate, well-thought out post where you analyzed what we know and the ways it could turn out, while not ignoring what you personally want.
I agree that on the surface, at this point it doesn't really seem like one episode would be enough to makde everything right between them, but I also think that if we've learned anything this season, it's that the Parks writers know what they're doing and plan things out and in retrospect, this is all going to make a lot of sense. Thinking about it, the idea of Leslie realizing how deep her feelings for Ben are while she's with him is a great idea, not only cause it's pretty true to life, but also it's not really something we see too much in situations like these on TV. I think on just about any other show, Leslie and Ben would have a season of aganst/Leslie fully realizing her feelings and then get back together with Ben (it's what I thought would happen), so I think it'll be really fun for the show to explore a different route. It will also allow the show to keep its happy aura, because let's be honest, a season full of aganst would be depressing (not to mention has already been done for Jim/Pam.) The only thing about this that even remotely annoys me is the fact that the writers would have broken them up only to get back together so early in the season, but again, I have complete faith in the writers, and I'm sure it will make sense by the season's end.

(Okay, long comment is long. Sorry.)
