Botheration

I got a phone call from the school a little over an hour ago: Youngest was in the office with a slight temperature, headache, stomachache and wanting to go home. Hubbie is in Spain, MIL is out for the day (which is why I'd specially booked her into the Out Of School Club for today - more money wasted), so there was no one else to pick her up. Cue me having to grovel to the Project Manager and promising to take some work home with me. Which is difficult, because I don't have access to the network from home, and most of my work is based on files that are on the network. I just about have access to my work email through a webmail version.

So now I'm at home with the one piece of work I could email to my home address at short notice, and Youngest is dosed up on Calpol, laying on the sofa under her quilt. She's starting to feel better now that the medicine is taking effect, too, so realistically I don't reckon I'm going to get much done this afternoon once she perks up enough to start chattering at me.

Gah, I see I'm going to have to work late tomorrow to compensate, Hubbie allowing. Probably straight from the office to Pilates for me.

work, kids
