Thanks, bb. In the face of confusing, hurtful things, I tend to get pragmatic. It's an instinctive form of self-preservation. Over-rationalizing things has the added bonus of reminding me of the positives.
One postive I haven't noted yet: a sudden vacuum in my always overactive Panic muse will allow lots of room for creativity in some of my more neglected fandoms...like the cuddly-gothic side of bandom. :)
Aren't coping mechanisms fascinating? I tend towards the pragmatic overall, with sporadic, brief but violent emotional storms that tend to leave lots of sheepishness in their wake. [I gots Leo emotions - it pretty much sucks.] In general though, I prefer rationalizing and looking for the positive.
