Thanks for your feedback! I'd love to get the Spencer/Gabe up and going again, because it love it, but it's going to be a lot of work. Maybe I can work on it a little at a time or something?

I narrowed it down to only clicking on half of them and am immensely proud of myself. Honestly? There's not a single snippet I would not like to see alllll of (even if I would have to look up that Johnson kid again). Though the first two are close to my heart, obvs. :DDDDDDDDDDD

Those top two are my main goals, but the Spencer/his bandmates story just... I don't know, it just doesn't seem right, and I don't know how to make it right. Basically, the bulk of the story's scenes are 1) immediately post-breakup, before he starts "dating" them or 2) Spencer + Ryan/Keltie or Spencer + Jon/Cassie. Brendon's always lurking in the background, as his friend, but I know know know I haven't earned the sexy payoff for them at the end. But in attempting to insert more sense of their sexual tension and the reason they've never acted on it, I've injected so much backstory that it's unwieldy...and still, perhaps, doesn't help me earn the Brendon/Spencer. *hands ( ... )

BRENDON/SHANE/SPENCER! Although anything by you will be awesome, of course.

It's so HARD, bb. I just... *hands* I keep getting these snippets and ideas and scenes, but I'm always so obsessed with the overall shape of a fic that I can't make myself write because I don't know how it all fits together. (It would also help if I'd settle on an origins story or a single dynamic.)

Maybe I just keep writing small, non-plotty (preferably porny!) bits until it looks like something that'll all fit together? God, I am so bad at this.

I understand! Maybe you need to take the pressure off, write something silly and fun. No pressure! Writing is fun! <333

Thanks for the reminder. :)

I think that's why I keep writing snippets of this epic relationship thing and then backing off. I don't want to give myself heartburn. I think I struggle too much with being absolutely clear in explaining backstory. I need to remember that as long as I understand the dynamic I'm going for, it'll come through even if I don't make the story hyper-plotty and overexplainy.

I really do think I'll try writing some short standalone ficlets. It'll help me get my feet wet with the pairing...and it'll be fun. :) Got any prompts?
