overture
After much hemming and hawing, I've finally sat myself down to write my first Live Journal entry. There! First sentence dispatched and now I'm off and running.
I must admit that it was a bit unorthodox having not first written a brief bio, as suggested, in the user info section. My reputation for mysteriously flitting into the lives of others puzzles quite a few of my friends. They claim that before they realised, I had skipped the entire budding acquaintance stage and jumped right into fully bloomed lifelong friend status seemingly within nanoseconds. Still, all beginnings have to start from somewhere.
There is a website not so very far away across the aether from here.
It's the community of h2g2 and is where I post on a regular daily basis.
I see that there are many others from h2g2 who have accounts at LJ. More are yet to branch out and seek a site like this, but I don't think it will be a mass exodus of ex-researchers. The appearance of hootooers at LJ's doorstep may be a sign of the times-the result of a current dissatisfaction of how the site has been run and the lack of respectful communication that ensued.
I'm here because I'd been eying this place since last year and waiting for the right moment to try it. With the concatenation of events occurring at h2g2 and seeing some friendly familiar user names sprinkled liberally about these environs, I decided to go ahead and leap in and explore.
To all my dear friends at h2g2: Hootoo's still my home!
*giggles*At least I'll have another excuse to write journal entries - which is something I was ridiculously remiss at doing on my own h2g2 PS.
And you'll have another place to lurk!
*Is chuffed that the commute back and forth from each site isn't all that much of a bother*
I hope to see some of the familiar hootoo faces that I know and love around here from time to time...and I look forward to meeting some of the friendly LJ denizens in the days ahead!
