I actually got out to see The Island tonight. Amazing, a movie, on a weeknight, I know, but on with the snark. Now the movie is not horrible, or even bad, but some parts of it... at one point, I had to remind myself that I should be snarking at

The product placements in The Island are so in-your-face that I kinda liked 'em. It always bothers me when supposed visions of the "near future" have societies that have somehow eliminated advertising and mass media.

I was entertained to see billboards on Coruscant in SW:AOTC. In most SF, everyplace seems to have turned into Vermont!

See, I woulda liked it more if they had some fake ones too...it was just so blaring. But it did make me laugh after a awhile.

In SW, at least it was all fake, I liked that, seemed real that way. And I'd like to go to Vermont, why not everyone else? ;)
