I have a new Job!

Well, I suppose it would be more accurate to say I have new job within my company. I started it a week and a half ago, and so far I really like it.

I'm now a customer service rep for our company's website. I'm now making about $2.50 more an hour than I used to with my hourly and commission combined. Plus I'm actually working 40 hours a week instead of 36 to 37. The only real downside is the commute.

I now commute about an hour each way instead of the 15 minutes I used to. I'm taking the commuter train so at least I'm not on the road the whole time, but between the commute and work I'm dealing with 12 hour days.

I could shorten that about half an hour by taking a later train in the morning, but parking is pretty scarce at the Park and Ride so I'm hesitant to risk coming later.

The positive side of the commute is I have plenty of time for reading. I'm also really relaxed by the time I get to work in the morning, and I leave all the worries from work behind on the way back home.

The people I'm working with are really great. My birthday was last week, and even though they had only known me for a few days, they still got me a birthday cake. There's none of the conflicts I experienced in my former location. Everyone does their part, I haven't seen anyone push off their work onto someone else. Plus if you need back up for a moment, everyone steps in.

Right now, I feel luckier than I've felt in a long time. :)
