I'm not going to let my dad slow me down, and that's that.
anyway, a friend of my mom's owns a tutoring centre, and she offered me a job to teach there, so why not? Up till now, i've been constructing a creative writing course, because the centre doesn't have any english courses yet, only math i think. But like i said, i'm putting a 2 month course together. Essentially i'm going to teach some simple stuff, the writing process, editing, different genres, etc. simple stuff, essentuially. Planning, is another story altogether. It's tough, to say the least, because even if it's only 8 classes i have to plan for, i have to plan out what i want to teach, the ultimate goal of what i hope to teach them, i have to make lesson plans for each of the classes, and know the crap i wanna teach off by heart. The good thing is that i'll be paid goodly sums of monies, if students sign up for the course. the people who run the tutoring centre have agreed to help do the advertising for me, i just need to create a flyer, or an ad, or....something of that nature.
anyways, it's tough to plan, since it's supposed to be about...an hour and a half per class i think. right now i'm finding that Ms. McDavid's writer's craft stuff is GOLD, not to mention stuff from the Reader's Digest magazines that i own, plus some other stuff from my uni courses, mostly assignment ideas and such. But wow. It's quite the undertaking...i have much more respect for profs that put courses together...holy CRAP.
