22 Alabama

I was originally going to give Alabama full credit, but I ended up downgrading it for the same reason that Maryland was downgraded: all of my time in the state was spent in a car. Those who've been paying attention know that all of that time was spent passing through the state on two separate trips to New Orleans, so all of that time was in a 1985 ( Read more... )

There's a NASA museum in Huntsville, iirc.

Also, there are some really nice parks, and some great caves.
My brother and sister-in-law were married in the main cave here.

Also, the Ave Maria Grotto is interesting and bizarre.

I can't believe I'm playing PR for AL. (my folks moved there when I was in college; I've never lived there, and am not generally fond of it)

I know because I was there.

We stopped at a Cracker Barrel, and by the end of the meal, we were contemplating leaving coop and hank there.

That certainly sounds feasible, but I honestly do not recall it. I do recall driving through Lynchburg four times, each in the middle of the night, and being disappointed each time. So you can tell what my priorities were.

And hey, don't you have an LJ?

Huntsville's pretty nice - NASA stuff, a really awesome state park. If you cared about SEC football, Auburn and UA are there (not a reason to go). Civil rights monuments and the like, as well.

I could just find a race to run and you could be my support team, too....

I've driven past the Space & Rocket center. It didn't look like anything I didn't get at Cape Canaveral (which I may go to again in December when I'm in Orlando).

I may not have been either. It might have been the Kennedy Space Center. So much for memory, eh?
