it is no big suprise that I spent 9 years in England, what is a suprise though is how I felt living n another country and feeling like the embassador of the USA. No matter what Mr Bush did, seemed like peopel blamed me, or I felt it anyway. I felt hatred and rasium, for being from a country that I love, and had lots of pride in, seeing the Goverment leader make mistakes, I had as much control over it as many of my own homeland people.
The worst feeling in the world was watching 9/11 attacks and not being able to know if my family and friends were safe, Not knowing what exactly was going on in New York and all the other places the planes went down. Feeling helpless, all I could do is stare at the TV with horror and wonder.
Watching the day Saddam was captured, and watching the day he hung from the bellows , and still feeling sad, that people were dying in Iraq, and Afgainstan, Feeling bad for the innocent humans who were dying , No matter what their color or creed or relgion, just feeling sad.
In November, I did my civil duty , I worked the election, as I am not able to serve in the military, it is the only civil duty I can , or able to do. I , as many others went to the polls early , and casted my vote. for the person I felt , would bring our country back on it's feet. and when I casted that vote, I felt a sence of pride, that , this man, would know what it was like to live in poverty, would know what it is liike to want health care, and not be able to afford it, to know what it is like to want housing , and not be able to get it, or want just 1 person in this world to listen.... I sat and watched Oprah today, and heard time and time again about .. "We need to serve our country" I agree with that, we all need to make our country heel, can't just say to our goverment you do it.. it is up to each one of us, to Heel The Nation! Get back to helping our neighbors, get back to it takes a villiage to raise a child.
Weither we are of color or not, weither we are men, or women, no matter what our sexual prefrence or our religion, all that needs to be set aside, and we MUST , start serving our country , as a Nation.
United we stand, Divided we fall.
It truely is a new day, and new beginnings. I know I am excited , about the changes to come, and pray that that God , Blesses the new President, and Blesses America
