(no subject)
For those that don't know, one of my responsibilities at work is to answer the phones. Which can be anything from massively aggravting to amusing.
It's sales people that drive me up the wall. Really, if I tell you we're not ready to look into new phone systems/moving companies/whatever other service you think we might want because a list somewhere has us as moving, staying on the phone with me for 5 looong minutes and insisting you just want to set up a meeting is going to do two things - it's going to annoy me, and it's going to waste your time. And your company's money, because presumably they're paying you for making these calls. (And my apologies to those who work on commision - really, just move on to someone else to call already.)
But the ones that get it? I love you. I just got a call from a guy at a frieght company. We don't frieght ship. Hell, we rarely ship at all. (Dad's company? They need frieght. Not us.) So thank you for laughing and taking us off your list when I told you what our company does. Nope, we're definitly not shipping our many emails and faxes. Thank you for your good humor and *short* phone call.
