A loud roar reverberated through the tunnel.
"Doctor?" Peri twisted to try and look over her shoulder. "I think you'd better hurry!"
"I'm working as fast as I can! And stop squirming about, will you? You're only pulling the rope tighter."
The next roar sounded considerably closer. Peri thought she could see two glowing green pinpricks through the gloom.
"Doctor!"
"It takes patience and finesse to unravel a Gideon knot. One mistake and you're likely to lose a hand."
"It's almost here!"
"I'm aware of that," he snapped. "I'm a Time Lord, not an intergalactic boy scout! Now HOLD STILL!"
