Title: The Mindful Way through Anxiety
Authors: Susan M. Orsillo and Lizabeth Roemer
Publisher: The Guilford Press NYC, NY Date: 2011
I'm presently about one third of the way through this. I am not going to say it's a bad book but it has alot of information I already knew in it. If you are unfamiliar with meditation's benefits, the first third of the book helps make that clear. If you are unfamiliar with the negative effects of anxiety, the first third of the book makes that clear as well.
Their writing style is easy to read. I'd put this at around a tenth grade reading level. All of the techniques that they proposed so far are ones that I use to manage my anxiety issues. They work sort of well for me. I, however, have a particularly bad problem with posttraumatic stress disorder and social phobia. I'm probably going to need to find other more intensive techniques to work with if there isn't something new to me in here.
If you're suffering with garden variety anxiety, this book will likely be helpful to you.
