Ok so a few things to update
It was jon's birthday, but I haven't seen him online and his blog doesn't have an e-mail address attached to it... so perhaps he'll see this. Happy Birthday Jon. I hope that it was good and you had lots and lots of fun.
Secondly... on to the job front. Ok well nothing really new to report. The job in Montreal... has sorta I guess been put on hold in so much as all the people that are in charge there are in Amsterdam, and I won't know anything until the 18th, which feels like a long time from now. I've been trying to network and find jobs through people more than through sites, although I am still doing that too. A couple of leads have popped up, but nothing that really rocks my world, and none of them have developed into anything yet either.
I shaved me goatee......... yes after nine. yes count em nine years, I shaved my chin. I also shortened my side burns. I figured that since I wasn't aiming for an artistic field I should look a little more professional and presentable. Let me tell you that it is difficult to get used to. Not to mention the razor burn of shaving my chin that has not been shaved in so long.
Ok... this may come to some as a surprise, but I am also thinking of trying out jonathan's thing. I am seriously considering teaching in Japan for a year or two. I know what some of you might say, but there are certainly advantages to me going. I mean travel, and a great jump off point to see other countries, and getting paid to live in another culture, and teaching in a foreign country does have translatable skills when I come back... such as adaptability and teaching, and problem solving in unfamiliar territory. Not to mention I feel like I need to see some more of the world and try out some new things. Call it a quarter life crisis if you will, but I think it might do me some good and give me some more perspective. Life is short, better enjoy it.
