So I've decided to start to hit up the agencies for jobs. Well I'll really have to wait till tuesday as most agencies are closed on fridays of long weekends.
But I've already had a positive response. I have an interview next week with Anderson DDB. It's an advertising agency that mostly deals with healthcare things, and has clients like pfizer and so forth. The job is entry level, and would pay about the same. It would be closer to home, but would also be a good stepping stone to better employment. There is much more room for growth in the agency side and a lot more salary work as opposed to contract or freelance work.
I could move from project coordinator to project manager to account manager in a few years and could move around from agency to agency. This is all much more promising than just freelancing it in the production world.
So yeah thought I'd keep you all updated... On tuesday I will likely call and or e-mail every agency in the city and flyer my resume around, and from the positive response I'm getting, I assume that my resume is ok... now I just have to charm the pants off of them all to get the job. The only real concern the HR person had was my salary expectations, and so far that wasn't really too much of an issue.
I'll keep you all posted on my career life, and hopefully by the end of the month I'm working in a new place with a whole new future ahead of me.
