A Soggy Soggy Day
We've had eight inches of rain in the last 48 hrs. Marble Falls, which is not that far away, has had 18 inches of rain since midnight. Feeling a bit waterlogged, as well as boxed in. The street in front of our fourplex floods in heavy rains, and the dips in the roads become small ponds. We've actually had cars float into the front yard. We can't go out the other way because there is a creek. All we can do is sit, watch the water rise and hope we don't get water inside again.
I called my friends in Yorkshire, which is being hammered by rains as well. They live in Leeds, and so far so good. There are a few flooded yards in their neighborhood, but nothing like what is happening in Sheffield, which is about a half hour away.
I should get back to my pre-move weeding. We are finding all kinds of interesting things, including a package of chocolate biscotti. It was in the closet underneath a broken ironing board.
