Some interesting things are going on lately. A lot more than I care to go into detail with for the time being- not that anything is bad, just.. a lot.
In other news, I'm not going to be attending USC this fall. I'm not sure what it is/was that made me an undesireable candidate, but not being accepted saved me a really difficult decision I'd have to make to leave here. On the other hand, I'm now stuck in Chicago for two more years, which I really don't like the idea of.. Chicago's okay, and I love the people there, but in general it's just not what I'm looking for in the long-term. Oh well.
There's a song I've had stuck in my head for a few days, and this is the part that really matters to me. It sounds a bit dramatic, and I guess it maybe sort of is, but whatever- I don't care. It's from the song "Wheels of a Dream," which is in the musical 'Ragtime' I was able to see the other week. It's sort of.. righteous-sounding, but it's what's gotten me through the past week or two. And no, the irony of me being in love with a Broadway song isn't lost on me.
Beyond that road
Beyond this lifetime
That heart full of hope
Will always gleam
With a promise of happiness.
And the freedom we’ll live to know.
We’ll travel with heads held high
Just as far as our hearts can go
And we will ride
Each time we’ll ride
On the wheels of a dream
I'm in Ft. Walton Beach for the weekend at my friend Will's house, taking pictures for his sister's wedding, so there's plenty of time to be caught up in my thoughts. I was already on the coast at the beach, which was beautiful, so we'll see what else comes out of this weekend.
I'm excited to get back though, and see what happens these next few weeks.
Peace y'all.
