Framework is in place!

There it is! :) 8-feet tall and 12-feet around. It was SUPPOSED to have another set of vertical posts and then some horizontal parts to show the 'round' top of the dome, but as soon as I had this much of it up, I said 'fuck it', because I could already tell that it wasn't big enough to be a burden on the nearby pad's views. I took a bunch of pictures from the nearby pads so I could show them to the board so they would know its not going to get in the way. In talking with some people (one of which is the president of the board of the SDAA) said the two biggest worries I'll have is that there are some regulations, one of which is that the structure must be "temporary", and the other of which says that the structure must fit in a 10x10 area. The 10x10 area thing seems very arbitrary to me. My private pad area is probably 60 feet by 30 feet. The 'temporary' thing seems a little odd, too. The reason it seems odd to me is because a 10x10x1 foot pad isn't temporary at all. Most of the pads also have cement piers installed, some of which I've seen are a foot wide and stick 3 or 4 feet out of the ground and are probably another 3 or 4 feet under ground. That doesn't scream 'temporary' to me.

I'll have to keep hoping that I can say the right things to the right people and get approval.

Oh! And while I was talking to Bob (President), I looked down at the ground and saw this:

A -REAL LIFE- Tarantula! Like a REAL one in the wild! It was HUGE. Probably fist sized, and it was just walking around chillin. It didn't seem to be scared of us, so I took a few closeups of it walking around. Unfortunately my autofocus kept autofocusing on other things. Tooo bad.

Oh yeah, and I finally got all of the pictures off of my camera from the (disasterous) trip to San Francisco with Emily. I got some really awesome pictures from the SF Zoo!! :)
