Ikea class is complete

After work I went over to Home Depot and picked up everything.  A steel right angle square, miter box w/ saw, an extra wood saw, a pair of work gloves, a 4' aluminum level, two boxes of screws, and 17 pieces of 1"x2"x8' wood.  The total was just shy of $100, funny how the tools are 2x as expensive as the materials!  Another funny thing I noticed, when I got home, is that 1"x2"x8' wood is actually 3/4"x1.5"x8'.  I dont think they know how to measure properly.  If someone can explain this, I'd love to hear it.

I got home with the supplies around 5:30 and I finished cutting the wood at 9.  I did have a food break in there, but cutting did take a while.  The miter box & saw turned out to be really slow to cut with, though helpful for making a guide-cut for the other saw.  Its also difficult to work on wood when I don't have a proper work bench and clamps and things.  The wood just flops all over the place.

I'll head out to the observatory site tomorrow in the afternoon and screw this beast together.  (Why does that sound so dirty?)  Hopefully it wont take more than an hour or two.  I will of course take lots of pictures. :)
