Why I Love My Job
So, I'm sitting at my desk today, when my supervisor comes up and hands me an envelope. It says on the outside, in the Yahoo! Purple,
Handle with care. Holiday cheer inside.
I shrug and open it, figuring it's another tchotchtke.
Wow, was I surprised.
Inside is a card with a code. This code allows us Yahoo! employees to donate $100 to the charity of our choice for the holidays.
I'm still stunned over this. I mean, I love my work...we have a community outreach program, we have a Gay Pride shareholders group, and it's a great place to work in general. I never thought that it would enable me to give to a cause I supported this easily, though.
For the record, in case anyone's curious, the charity I donated to was Community HIV/AIDS Mobilization For Power, Inc. (CHAMP). Information available here.
