To Be Reminded

As I was driving to spend time with my boy, a placed in the car stereo a cd I had forgotton about. After a couple of songs, I was taken back to a forgotten memory nearly a decade ago. "Cruising" came on over the speakers sung by Huey Lewis and Gweneth Paltrow and I was reminded of a drive to my sister's so many years ago...

That is a really cool idea to work on a history for your child. No doubt Isaac would really enjoy that too. Heck, I would love it if my mom did something like that for me and my sibs.

Isaac just turned 10 in November, and it's amazing watching him change and grow. I see me and his dad in him. He's got my moodiness and scatter-brainedness and his dad's impatience. He's so sensitive and vulnerable; but he confronts things head on rather than bottling up his emotions like I tend to do.

I love reading your entries because you make me take stock of my own relationships and inspire new wonder in my child's growth.

Thank you h_thur, our bond with our child is all that we have of legacy to pass on. If in the future, someone turns to your son, who by this time, is all grown up, and says of him, he's 'good people', know that it is because of you. This is what he will become from your guidance and love. This is the absolute best we can give our children. That comment alone to me, makes it valid.
