MSOAN; Check your sanity at the door, please

Recently I've been following the drama, Mary Stayed Out All Night. I'd planned on going back and start talking about it from episode one, because this is kind of like eating the homemade pie without actually baking it first but whatever. So I actually watched episode 13 of MSOAN RAW when I usually have the patience to wait for the subbed episode to come out (except for episode...9 I think, after Maeri confessed that she and Mugyul aren't actually married) mainly because the preview and the hype about the aftermath of Mugyul saving Maeri from the falling prop--which, now having seen the scene, looks like it weighs all of 10 pounds and about as dangerous as a week old kitten.

After all the conspiracy theories flying around about Hanadan-esque amnesia and Maeri forgetting Mugyul and getting married to Jung In instead and of Mugyul forgetting Maeri, the ending was rather anti-climactic...until we got to the end of the episode.

LOL at all the throw-away drama cliché's. Mugyul saves Maeri from a falling prop and gets a sprained wrist instead of amnesia or some life threatening illness. Mugyul then promptly gets kidnapped by some not-at-all-suspicious looking men in black who pull up in front of him in a ominous looking black car IN BROAD DAYLIGHT, the gets saved like two minutes later by Maeri who comes up in a cop car instead of the car crashing and Mugyul sustaining amnesia of some life threatening illness. I love that they're taking all the cheesy drama must-haves and boggling everyone's mind with it and not making it the central angst pillar.

You know how people say somethings are so bad it's good, the plot--and I use that term lightly--is one such case. It makes absolutely no sense, but at the end of the day I don't even care than it makes no sense because it gives us Maeri and Mugyul and all their adorable fluff and happy and being grabby with each other and it makes me want to be all fluffy and happy and grabby right along with them.

review au revoir, mary stayed out all night
