Chang Hwe, obviously the dorky aristocratic hats are the root of your downfall. Your hair is your achillies heel, that's the only explanation for the plot derailment.
Wow I didn't think it could get more painful. I watched the episodes leading up to the finale of Hong Gil Dong and...wow, that hurt like a kick in the proverbial balls. It seriously felt like the writers of the series and the last two episodes weren't even the same people.
For the most part and when I say most part I mean every single episode where Gil Dong and Chang Hwe are acquainted EXCEPT THE LAST, Gil Dong and Chang Hwe have been 'I WILL PROTECT YOU!' and 'I WILL BECOME THE KING YOU AND THE PEOPLE WANT' respectively. Then this explode in your face ending pretty much unravels every single promise and vow and character bond ever made between Gil Dong and Chang Hwe.
CHANG HWE TOOK AN ARROW FOR GIL DONG!
GIL DONG WAS THE MAIN CONTRIBUTING FACTOR TOWARDS CHANG HWE ACTUALLY ACHIEVING HIS GOAL OF BECOMING KING!
THE RESPECT THEY HAD FOR EACH OTHER!
NOT TO MENTION ALL THE AMAZING MALE-EGO WRESTLING THAT WENT ON BETWEEN THE TWO AT EVERY OPPORTUNE MOMENT!
WHERE THE HELL DID ALL THAT GO?
WTF I AM NOT HAPPY AT ALL!
