Totally agree. Very little did I ever get annoyed throughout which is nice. I had to see it a second time today to process it all. The biggest annoyance was Ron not really saying goodbye when Harry was going into the forest. I don't like that Ron/Harry friendship gets diminished as less important that Harry/Hermione friendship

Yes, the Harry/Ron friendship has been glossed over quite a bit in the whole series. I especially did not like the bit in DH1 where they totally forgot to include the part where Harry reassures Ron that Hermione is like a sister to him.
I'm not too coherent about DH2 also, but I take it as a positive that I wasn't mentally pointing out to myself that they missed this, why did they put that, what the hell were they thinking when they filmed that scene... :)
I was pretty impressed with the way they aged everyone in the Epilogue, considering that the initial leaked photos of older Dan were quite awful. Turns out they re-shot the entire scene due to snarky online comments about how horrible the make-up was. LOL.
Well that's probably because Movie Hermione obviously is more than just a sister to Movie Harry. I mean, why else would the actors be told to play the tent scene as if they were about to kiss? Hmmm... interesting.
I do think that most HP movies I've left overwhelmed by the amount of things that I can remember them leaving out. This one, there are parts I wish had more time to play out, but nothing glaring that's outright missing. So that's a great sign!
As for the aging in the epilogue. The whole theater was complaining about it and I just wanted to stand up and say "you have NO idea how good this looks compared to what they originally filmed"
My son and I are going to the midnight premier in Augusta tonight. Can't wait. Think I am most looking forward to Molly and Bellatrix. Did they do that scene justice? Also hope we get at least a bit of clarity re: H/G. My son has been on a marathon to finish reading the books by tonight and is started to understand all the grousing I've been doing about the movies. He is particularly agrieved that kreacher didn't get a better shake in the films.
I think you'll find that the H/G scenes were underwhelming as usual, but if you go in without expecting that the filmakers have suddenly become H/G shippers overnight, you won't be too disappointed with what actually came out in the movie. At least there weren't any suggestive H/Hr scenes. It was definitely a Ron/Hermione shipper's dream come true.
The Molly-Bellatrix duel went by too quickly for my taste, but at least it was there, along with the best line in Book 7 - "Not my daughter, you b*tch!". :)
That is the best line in the book! BTW, I seem to recall you were working on a fic last time we spoke. How's that coming? Sadly I haven't worked on anything in months. My dad passed last week after having a stroke back in April so life has been pretty consumed with work and that for the last few months. I am hoping my creative juices get flowing again after the dust settles.
I'm sorry to hear about your dad. My writing has taken a back seat to my pregnancy. I don't have any energy to think of even continuing my story, plus I've begun to notice that I seem to be stuck in a rut when it comes to writing. Not that I'm switching to angst or anything, but my latest efforts seem to be almost identical to each other. :(
Neville was indeed awesome. The theatre cheered when he cut off Nagini's head. Hehe.
I think it was Alan Rickman's performance that made me feel sympathetic for Snape, just a little. When he was crying and holding Lily's dead body - whew! In the books though, I still dislike him as a character.
Unfortunately I just think Bonnie and Dan don't really have much chemistry, though her acting in the scene where she thinks Harry is dead is just perfect.
I loved it (minus two minor things) until the epilogue. I just don't think that scene translates well to the big screen (I enjoyed it in the book). Between the terrible make-up and the fact that I know these actors are actually my age, I just couldn't not snicker during the whole thing. The kids were cute, though.
The kids were cute, and that Albus was as handsome as anything. I wish they had put Teddy and Victoire in though, and let James and Lily have their lines. And Ron should have said his line about people watching them because he's famous.
On the whole, I liked it (is probably one of my favorites of the movies), but wasn't too thrilled with how they changed the sequence of the final battle at Hogwarts. There was just too much changed for me to be really happy with it (most especially the whole Neville/Voldemort confrontation). However, the epilogue is exactly how I pictured it. I'm glad that they went back and shot it again. Although Tom Felton still looked like a teenager dressing up in his father's clothes. I seriously laughed out loud at the glance he had of him.
I suppose they filmed the battle to make it more appealing to those who never read the books. My husband certainly liked it and I didn't want to ruin it for him by saying they did it parts of it wrong. :) I was hoping that Harry would pass Ginny on his way to the Forbidden Forest, but that would be too much to ask for.
Tom Felton already looks more mature, even in his Hogwarts uniform. I think the cut of his jacket was too broad-shouldered so that it made it look too big for him. I didn't even see Scorpius's face because I was snickering at Tom's outfit.

I think they did Dan the best in the makeup for the Epilogue. He actually looks like he's aged appropriately.

I must say that I too did not notice Scorpius. I normally think that Draco looks much older too, but maybe it was the outfit.
