sometimes i feel like my time outside of work and school is spent entirely on making myself dinner and situating my laptop so that it's in closer proximity to me.
today my urban studies professor asked me stand up in front of the class and read an essay answer i'd given on a quiz, 2nd grade show-and-tell style. my response of "are you serious?" was met with "absolutely. come right up here next to your professor and read it." i don't care about that so much, i'm glad he likes me. what's annoying though is that when he's not mispronouncing my last name (i stopped correcting him months ago) he is calling me "book-girl" or just simply "bookstore" because of where i work and especially lately when i've been reading vonnegut during our breaks. he's a strange man.
oh, and i really recommend that anyone with a tv watches the "america at a crossroads" documentary series on pbs. it's about iraq, but not in the way that everything else on tv is about iraq, which is why it's worth seeing.
