I went to the awards dinner tonight, and as it turns out I did not win two awards. I won THREE. :)

Two were awards I was automatically selected for, and the other was the award I had applied for.
The third award was for having the second highest GPA in my major. Yeah.. second. Hmph. I'm losing my edge. :P

I'm still proud. :)

I've pasted the awards I've won and descriptions under the cut for those of you interested - and so I can look back and remember, and feel good once in awhile. :P

Business Administration Academic Achievement Awards
Automatic Selection
Three awards valued at $500, $400 and $300 will be presented annually, in each major of the Business Administration program, to the students graduating with the highest cumulative GPA's (minimum 3.80).

Society of Management Accountants Canada - Manitoba Partner Awards
Automatic Selection
Two cash awards and student fees for the CMA program will be awarded to Term 6 Business Administration students based on academic performance. All recipients must have: a) completed both Intermediate Accounting 2 and Cost Accounting, b) not be the recipient of any credits or not have availed of any credits for any of the day-program courses, and c) have a full course load consisting of six courses per term throughout the program.

Norm Konowalchuk Memorial Award
General RRC Application Required
This award was established by family and friends in memory of Norm Konowalchuk, a long time employee of Red River College. One $1750 award will be available annually to a second-year Business Administration student enrolled in the final semester, who has attained a minimum 3.50 GPA in term 3, and intends to pursue a university degree and/or professional designation upon receiving their Business Administration diploma. Eligible applicants will have demonstrated volunteerism, leadership, commitment to the community and to life-long learning. Application forms should be accompanied by a one-page essay outlining the applicant's career aspirations, community activity and suitability for the award (an indication of how this award would make a difference to them and their plans may also be included); a letter of reference from a Business Administration instructor, commenting on the applicant’s degree of commitment and enthusiasm for life-long learning and; a letter of reference related to the applicant's volunteerism, leadership and commitment to the community. Application forms should be submitted to the Student Service Centre by April 18, 2011. The award funds will be issued directly to registration fees for a university program and/or professional designation classes, upon confirmation of registration by the recipient.
