(no subject)
Time for a rare and really random post.
The current CD in my car is a random mix of Decemberists' songs, including The Mariner's Revenge Song, and after listening to it about three times in my car, I started thinking about a story I read based on it quite a while ago about how the narrator was a woman. And she worked as a whore on the streets until she made it onto the ship, and then tried to seduce the captain in the belly of the whale or something before she tortured and killed him. And also, she was insane, and only imagined her mother's dying wish, or something.
I know it's not a woman, but I can't get this story out of my head, and now when I hear this song, I think of it being a woman. It's kind of even more awesome that way. And I'm probably remembering all this wrong, anyway, but again, more awesome. It's my personal Mariner's Revenge Song canon now.
OK, then. Hey, guess what, I'm going to get my next tattoo on Sunday. Yaaaay, and I'm back on the ball with the folding of the cranes, though it's still going to be foreverrrr. And, I definitely want the air balloon from Oh! The Places You'll Go somewhere on me. I'm thinking the inside of my upper arm right now, but that one'll be a while, I think. Suggestions, anyone?
